Holiday Treats

I just finished eating my fourth cookie today, and now I’m eyeing a big piece of chocolate cake.
Why is it that the holidays give us license to eat anything and all we want? I can already feel my waistband getting tighter!
There are a lot of tempting food during the Christmas Season, but I blame my lack of restraint on my neighbor. I was doing fine until she brought over her annual plate of chocolate chip cookies. I swear to you, they are the best chocolate chip cookies on earth. They are just right: thick, slightly moist, and chock full of chips. I ate three huge ones within five minutes.
But I won’t gain any weight, because I’m going back to my normal eating — no bread, pasta, and cookies — first thing in the morning.
By the way, if you have a chocolate chip cookie you think beats my neighbors, email me at Happy Holidays!

Less than a week until Christmas, and I STARTED my Christmas shopping today. Yes, this is living dangerously. I’m usually late, but this is ridiculous.
Fortunately, I found “Guitar Hero 3”, a touch screen ipod, and a couple of video games within 30 minutes. That about wraps it up for the 14 year old.
My husband is a different story. Every time he opens a gift he looks at me like “why did you buy this?”. So he told me about a couple of books he wants and that’s what he’s going to get.
That just leaves my parents, my brother, my nieces and nephews……you get the picture. It’s gonna be a busy weekend.

What’s On My IPOD

One of my favorite questions to ask people I interview is “what’s on your ipod?”.

Well, one of the crew who sees me listening to my ipod on the set every night before we go on the air with the news just asked me the same question. ( I listen to music while I’m pre-reading my scripts because it gives me energy and since I usually get about 5 or 6 hours of sleep a night
sometimes I really need it).

So here’s the answer: My ipod has everything from the Rolling Stones “Gimme Shelter” to Britney Spears “Gimme More”. Actually Britney is really good “before the news” music because it’s high energy. I like “Piece of Me” and “Toxic ” too. Fergie is good — I like her new song but right now “Glamorous” is all that’s on my ipod. “Stronger” by Kanye West was one of my favorites but it’s getting old.

My 14 year old is appalled that I listen to rap so he put a bunch of Jimi Hendrix on it. Way too heavy for before the news.
