Coming Home

Labor Day is traditionally the kick off of the political season.  From now until election day we will see hundreds of ads for John McCain and Barack Obama, each hoping to begin a new era in the White House.

But this is the end of an era for President George W. Bush.  The President and Mrs. Bush are getting prepared to come home to Texas, first to the Crawford ranch, and then probably to a new home in Dallas.

The President has faced many enormously difficult decisions during these two terms in office.  I have been fortunate to be acquainted with the President and First Lady for several years.  So I was interested in the article “The Final Days” in Sunday’s New York Times magazine.  I think it paints a pretty accurate picture of who George W. Bush is.
